Its optical construction features 18 elements in 13 groups, including a Super ED (Extra-low Dispersion) element and two ED elements to suppress chromatic aberrations—a common challenge for long telephoto lenses. This ensures that your long-distance shots remain sharp and color-accurate. The lens is treated with ZERO (Zuiko Extra-low Reflection Optical) coating, which significantly reduces ghosting and flare, ensuring clear images even when shooting in bright, high-contrast environments. For fast-moving action, the lens utilizes the MSC (Movie & Still Compatible) autofocus mechanism. This drive system is powered by a precision-engineered metallic shaft and feed screw rather than noisy gears, resulting in autofocus that is lightning-fast for stills and virtually silent for video. This "Mark II" version features a refined, modern aesthetic with a sleek black finish that matches perfectly with the OM-D and PEN series bodies.
