The 9-18mm Mark II is the perfect entry point into ultra-wide-angle photography. While it provides a dramatic 100-degree angle of view at the wide end, it remains incredibly user-friendly thanks to its flat front element, which easily accepts standard 52mm screw-in filters—a rarity for lenses this wide. The optical design includes 12 elements in 8 groups, featuring Dual Super Aspherical (DSA) and Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass to maintain clarity and minimize the barrel distortion often found in wide lenses. The lens features a refreshed exterior design, including a new petal-shaped lens hood (now included in the box) and a more modern grip on the zoom ring. Its collapsible barrel mechanism ensures it stays unobtrusive in a pocket or small bag until you're ready to shoot. Focusing is handled by the MSC (Movie & Still Compatible) motor, providing near-silent and very fast AF performance that is ideal for both quiet video recording and high-speed street photography. With a minimum focusing distance of just 25cm, you can get close to foreground subjects to create dynamic, deep-perspective compositions.
